Ceramics Handbuilding Basics Course in Kallio, Helsinki

During this course, you will get acquainted with the basics of ceramics using hand-building techniques. Pinching, coiling, and slab techniques will become familiar, and you will learn the basics of glazing. This course is an excellent first step into the world of ceramics! In this course, you will have the opportunity to make, for example, 2-4 cereal bowls, 2-4 cups, or a vase.

Please note, this course is taught only in English (most of our courses are Finnish/English)

1. Intro to the course, health and safety in ceramics, ideas and inspiration to objects doable in this course, let us start making! Techniques: pinching, coiling, slabs and joining clay pieces

2. Building objects, decorating/ texturing, polishing

3. Glazing the objects

Pieces will be ready in 3 - 4 week after the course, we will send you an email.

Pick up your pieces in 4 weeks after the course and the email saying pieces are ready.

Please note that the rescheduling or cancellation of this class needs to be done 2 weeks prior to it. We are unable to reschedule after that. In this case you can transfer your place to a friend, just let us know about the name change.
